About this program

Texas Teen Driver Education – Behind-the-Wheel Training (7 & 7 Program)

The Texas Teen Driver Education Program includes 7 hours of behind-the-wheel driving instruction and 7 hours of in-car observation, which are required components of the teen licensing process.

This training helps students develop essential driving skills, including:

  • Driver awareness and alertness
  • Defensive driving techniques
  • Safe vehicle operation
  • Understanding and following Texas traffic laws
  • Responsible driving habits and self-discipline
  • Professional and courteous driving behavior

7 Hours of Behind-the-Wheel Driving Instruction

Students receive hands-on driving experience with a certified instructor while practicing essential driving skills in real-world traffic situations. This training helps students develop confidence, improve vehicle control, and learn safe driving habits.

7 Hours of In-Car Observation

The observation portion allows students to ride in the vehicle and observe other student drivers during their driving lessons. While not actively driving, students gain valuable insight by watching how different traffic situations are handled and how instructors provide guidance and feedback.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Student must have a valid Texas Learner License/Permit before beginning behind-the-wheel training.
  • After enrollment, the driving schedule will be sent via email.
